In addition to his campaign against the salt tax, Gandhi also engaged in many other protests and was imprisoned multiple times. While living in South Africa, he protested the government's treatment of Indians.
After returning to India, he helped lead a boycott of British goods and campaigned against unfair treatment of untouchables -- those who ranked low in the Indian caste system.
